Dangerfield polled 15 votes to finish as the highest placed Cat in equal fifth, 16 votes behind Lion Lachie Neale who won his first Brownlow Medal.
Guthrie was rewarded for an outstanding regular season finishing equal ninth, one vote behind Dangerfield.
Tom Hawkins (11 votes) also polled strongly for the Cats.
