Geelong has been active on the opening day of free agency, adding Isaac Smith as an unrestricted free agent.
The club will also lodge a contract offer for Jeremy Cameron who is a restricted free agent.
Smith, a veteran of 210 games and three premierships with Hawthorn, will continue his career at GMHBA Stadium.
“Isaac remains an exceptional player and we are excited that he has chosen to join our club,” Geelong’s recruiting and list manager Stephen Wells said.
“Isaac has enjoyed great success at Hawthorn and we see him being a key player for us in the coming seasons. Isaac’s decision sees us strengthen our list and we are pleased to have concluded this on the opening day of the free agency period.”
Once a contract lodged for Cameron, the GWS Giants will have three days to determine whether to match the offer.
“We respect the process and will now wait for that process to play out.”
