TRADE Period officially starts on Wednesday morning, opening the door for clubs to rubber stamp deals that are close to being agreed.
Geelong has already signed triple premiership winning Hawk Isaac Smith, adding the unrestricted free agent during the free agency window.
“I am up for a new challenge; a new journey and I am very excited to be part of the Geelong Football Club,” Smith said.
“I am looking forward to challenging myself and contributing to a great organisation and hopefully some success to come.”
The Cats lodged paperwork on Friday with the AFL to make Giants forward Jeremy Cameron a Geelong player.
However, as is their right under free agency rules, the Giants elected to match Geelong’s bid and now the two clubs will need to agree on a trade.
Geelong has also been linked in the media to North Melbourne mid-forward Shaun Higgins.
