Gabbi Featherston made a return to forward duties in her third season at AFLW level. The former Geelong Falcon with an incredible vertical leap had played predominantly in the forward half at junior level, and has pinch-hit in the ruck at both junior and VFLW level, competing well against opponents much taller than her 170cm. After starting as a defender in her early AFLW seasons, Featherston made four senior appearances in 2023, playing predominantly forward and occasionally providing extra support on the wing, and spent time in the midfield in the VFLW last year.
