The Powercor Country Festival is back bigger than ever in 2018 ahead of the annual Country themed Blockbuster match between Geelong and Essendon on 19 May at the MCG.
The free festival will be held in the Yarra Park Precinct from 1pm and includes plenty of activities showcasing the best of Regional Victoria.
At the main stage there will be live entertainment throughout the day including performances from The Black Sorrows, John Williamson, Michelle Gardiner and Darren Coggan.
The fresh produce from the country will be celebrated with a farmer’s market supported by Regional Development Victoria and Food and Wine Festival, featuring a range of delicious produce from regional Victoria.
Other activations on the day include:
- An interactive entertainment and footy activation from Powercor
- Farm animals and displays from the Royal Agricultural Society of Victoria
- A snapshot of the Deni Ute Muster with a ute display and camel rides throughout Yarra Park
- Tractor display from Case IH and CNH Industrial
- Jumping castles and plenty of kid’s entertainment
- CFA display
- A beer garden featuring wines from Treasury Wine Estates and beer from Colonial Brewing Co.
It’s a family affair before the game where all kids and adults can appreciate bringing the country to the ‘G ahead of watching the Cats take on the Bombers at Melbourne’s home of footy.
There will also be a range of pre-match activities on-field ahead of the bounce which we be announced closer to the game.
