Geelong is in the box seat for a home final following Sunday's 35-point win over Williamstown in the VFLW.

The Cats have won their past four matches on the trot and sit in fourth spot with just one round to play in the home and away season. A win against Collingwood this Saturday would cement fourth spot and a home final, while a loss would see the Cats' sweating on the result of the Southern Saints-North Melbourne game on Sunday.

The Bendigo Bank Cats had to dig deep to turn their fortunes around against the Seagulls at Williamstown Football Ground, turning a scrappy two-point lead at half-time into a convincing 8.4 (52) to 2.5 (17) win.

In a scrappy first half, the Cats' clean kicking in front of goal had them ahead by two points, but play was far from being on their terms.

But after the main break, the visitors came out with a clear purpose, and fought for control around the ground, conceding just one behind for the entire second half, while piling on 5.4 themselves.

Mia Skinner led the way with four goals for the match - her first, the opening goal of the game.

The Cats' deputy vice-captain kicked her second and third goals in the opening 20 seconds of the second and third quarters respectively to give the Cats a perfect start to each term.

The last quarter was all Tamara Smith, though, with the Cats' tackling star reaping the rewards for her hard work as a small forward, booting three goals in the final term.

Captain Bree Beckley led beautifully out of defence, with her 15 disposals pivotal for the Cats, while Chloe Scheer had another big day in the midfield, collecting a game-high 27 disposals and 12 clearances, as well as laying eight tackles - an equal-game high.

Cats coach Andrew Bruce said he was pleased to see his players respond to the Seagulls' challenge and bring the game back onto their terms.

"All the girls know what their role is each game. If we can just stick to that and the style of play that we want, we know it will come back on our terms, but it all comes back to how much effort and pressure we want to put on the opposition," he said.

"It was two different games for us, really - the first five minutes of each quarter (in the first half), we did really well, and then we just went away from what we wanted to do and Williamstown played some really good footy and were really hard.

"But then we were able to turn it around in the second half, which was really pleasing.

"It was pleasing particularly in the last quarter that we just didn't stop then, we just kept driving it ... and gave ourselves a lot more opportunities to score."

The Cats take on Collingwood next Saturday from 2pm at the AIA Centre in the final round of the rebel VFLW season.
