Cats TV caught up with three elite players, Steve Johnson, Tom Lonergan and the skipper Joel Selwood, on this week’s Match Committee to talk about Saturday’s clash against the Pies.

Johnson says the Cats always look forward to battling against Collingwood at the MCG because of the large and atmospheric crowds they bring.

“We can’t wait, they’re always big games and there is always a big crowd when we play Collingwood, certainly our younger players are really looking forward to the opportunity and it’s another great test for us,” Johnson told Cats TV.

In the Cats backline Lonergan says he’ll be keeping a close paw on Collingwood’s two-time All Australian Travis Cloke.

“He’s a pretty strong bloke, a monster of a man, and I think he took the most contested marks last year in the competition, so they like kicking the ball to him and we’re aware of that,” Lonergan said.

“So it’s important that us as a team work together and make sure we help out the bloke that’s playing on him.”

Meanwhile Selwood is getting ready to shutdown a dangerous Dane Swan.

“We’ve seen Dane come out and play really good football off some not great criticism in the past so we’ve got to be careful because he is a great player.”
