The VFL Cats have named an extended 27-man squad for their meeting with Collingwood on Saturday at Simonds Stadium.
A total of 12 AFL listed Cats have been named including Matthew Hayball, James Parsons and VFL listed Cameron Tudor who were all managed last week. The VFL Cats lose Cory Gregson, Jed Bews (AFL selection) and Sam McLachlan (ankle) for the match.
The VFL Cats currently sit 8th on the ladder with two wins and two losses and a percentage of 123.63 whilst their opponent, the Pies, sit 10th after two wins over Port Melbourne and the Northern Blues and three substantial defeats to the Casey Scorpions, Essendon and Sandringham.
Head to head the two sides have met 16 times, the Cats have come away with the win in just six of those meetings.
Last time they met was round 4, 2015 in Bendigo. The Cats were defeated by nine-points in a close encounter where Padraig Lucey booted four goals.
The 1pm VFL clash is the first game of the not-to-be-missed VFL Women’s & Peter Jackson VFL double-header at Simonds Stadium this weekend.
The Geelong Magpies will line up against Knox in the VFL Women’s match from 3.45pm. The match is the first ever women’s match at Simonds Stadium.
