Geelong will be without star Amy McDonald for Saturday's game against West Coast after she copped a one-game suspension for a dangerous tackle during Sunday's win over Essendon.

McDonald was cited for rough conduct for her tackle on Essendon's Steph Cain, with the Match Review ruling the incident was careless, medium impact and high contact, resulting in a one-match ban.
