THE AFL has advised that fans purchasing both AFL Membership tickets and General Public tickets for the 2016 AFL Premiership Season will avoid paying the Ticketek service and handling fee during Friday March 11 on-sales.
- AFL members will able to purchase tickets to MCG matches in Rounds 1-6, including Anzac Day, from 9.00am Friday, March 11.
- General Public tickets will be on sale from 12.00pm (midday) on Friday March 11.
- The fee-free offer to fans will begin at 9.00am and conclude at 11.59pm.
AFL CEO Gillon McLachlan said the AFL was pleased for fans who were inconvenienced as a result of the Ticketek system issue last Friday.
"The MCC notified the AFL late this afternoon that as a result of discussions between the two organisations, and Ticketek, fans purchasing tickets on Friday would avoid paying the Ticketek service and handling fee applied when purchasing tickets for MCG matches," Mr McLachlan said.
"The AFL would like to thank the MCC and Ticketek for their commitment to achieving this outcome.
"We encourage our fans to purchase tickets for MCG matches tomorrow and enjoy fee free Friday."
