THE BIG positive for Geelong so far this season has been its fast starts to games.

Chris Scott's team has been so quick out of the blocks that it sits second for total first quarter scores in 2015.

The Cats have scored 37.20 (242) in their nine first quarters to date, which puts them behind only Fremantle, which has scored 40.21 (261).

But it's pretty clear where Geelong's problem lies.

The Cats have been outscored by 77 points in last quarters so far this season, a trend that was particularly evident last weekend when the Eagles - the best last quarter team in the competition - piled on seven goal to one in the final term.

Geelong now has the third-worst scoring differential in the competition for last quarters. The only teams to fare worse are the Brisbane Lions and the Western Bulldogs.
