Although Nakia Cockatoo only touched downin Geelong late Sunday night, Geelong’s number 10 draft pick says he alreadyfeels at home after his first training session at the Cattery.
“It’s been awesome, all the boys are justgetting around me and being really nice and making me feel at home and withSteven (Motlop) and Mathew Stokes it feels like I am back in Darwin,” Cockatootold Cats TV.
Together Stokes and Motlop, who grew up in Darwin like Cockatoo, gave the speedy midfielder some handy advice before he kicked off his first AFL preseason on Monday.
“I guess they are just saying it’s hardwork, put your head down and don’t get too ahead of yourself, you know,everything will come,” Cockatoo said.
Following his first session on the track,Cockatoo received the admirable number five, which has been worn by Geelong starsPolly (Graham) Farmer, Gary Ablett snr and Travis Varcoe.
