TOM Stewart was a proud leader on Thursday night after Geelong overcame a third term deficit to storm past Melbourne in their Round 15 clash at GMHBA Stadium.
The Cats trailed the Demons by seven points at three-quarter-time before a six-goal blitz in the final term saw Geelong return to the winners list in style.

Speaking to Channel Seven post-game, Stewart was pleased with the way the group were able to stay in the contest up against a very good side.
"It was a greasy night and the conditions dictated the way the game was played but we just held in," Stewart told Seven's broadcast.
“Melbourne is a classy outfit. They are stacked all over the board and they play a really good brand of footy. I have a lot of respect for their group. So, I am so stoked. Some of the kids tonight were unbelievable."

Those kids that Stewart speaks of include Brad Close, who was Geelong's main ball winner registering a career-high 24 disposals, and Tanner Bruhn who finished with two goals and 19 disposals.
It was those types of unheralded players which made Stewart a proud skipper on Thursday night.
“Tanner (Bruhn), Ollie (Henry), Gryan Miers, they had some amazing moments, Brad Close. They are probably unheralded names, but they play an amazing role for us and I couldn’t be more proud of this group.”
The victory keeps the Cats in touch with the top eight. Their next challenge coming against the Swans at the SCG next Friday, but for now the team will enjoy this victory.
“It is a special one this one, one I won’t forget for a long time.”
