Chris Scott on… Current Form

We feel like we're getting close to our best footy at the right time of the year.

It would have been nice to have produced it a bit earlier, had a bit more continuity, be a little bit higher on the ladder, those type of things. We feel like we're going in well prepared and confident to play one of the best teams in the competition where they've been pretty dominant so it's a week one should really look forward to.

Chris Scott on… Zach Tuohy & Esava Ratugolea

They both have come off the rest looking really good to my eye at least, the metrics support that as well. It's nice to have them available. 

It's a bit early to be too confident on the makeup of the team just yet but it's likely that everyone that played last week will be available again so, we've got some thinking to do. 

Chris Scott on… Brisbane at the Gabba

The ground is a little bit different, and we take that into consideration, I don't think it's a matter of us saying it's exactly the same. A bit similar to when they come to the MCG, it would be really naive to say, 'there's goal posts at either end and you just play exactly the same way', there are subtle shifts that they clearly have gone close to mastering up there, which makes a lot of sense. 

I guess we feel a bit more confident than you generally might because we played so much footy up there in 2020 when we were in the Gold Coast hub and we felt for various reasons.

Chris Scott on… Tom Atkins 100th Game

It feels to a lot of people like the 100 games has come pretty quickly. but when you work through Tom's path to 100 games, it has been a long hard road and he deserves every bit of it.

He is just crucial to what we're trying to be, not only as a football team but a football club. He is a humble young man. If you see him in the streets of Geelong, I promise you won't look at him across the road and think he's on his toes bouncing around because he's an AFL footballer, he's just a salt of the earth guy, but when he gets on a footy field, there's no one more competitive, we love him. 

Chris Scott on… Cam Guthrie’s Return

He looks like he's making really good progress to me.

I did get an update very recently in the last couple of days, I'm not sure whether they're being conservative or not because they're saying it's still the same plan, that he'll likely be available towards the end of the home and away season but he's making very good progress to my eye.
