We take a look at which Cats are in the selection mix for our must win game against the Gold Coast on Saturday.
Scott Selwood
Struggling to get over his back complaint. A good chance to line up this week if he gets over his injury. Adds a much-needed defensive mindset into the midfield group.
Wylie Buzza (16 disposals, nine marks and two goals)
An injury to Ratugolea has opened up the door for Buzza. Two goals on the weekend will have put him at the forefront of the selectors minds.
Mark O’Connor (16 disposals and four R50)
Named our best in the VFL win over Williamstown, the Irishman will be looking to add to his three AFL games after eight marks and four rebounds down back.
Timm House (16 disposals and eight marks)
16 disposals and eight marks in another dominant display in defence for House who celebrated his birthday on Saturday as well. A few injuries means spots have opened up in the side and if Chris Scott wants to shuffle the magnets a little, Timm will be a good chance to make his debut
James Parsons (30 disposals and a goal)
Responded well to his omission with 30 disposals, six clearances and a goal. His ability to play in multiple positions means he is never too far away from a recall to the seniors.
Ryan Abbott (19 disposals and 21 hit-outs)
Named in the best again and won’t be too far away from a debut with the revolving door that is the ruck position in the seniors. His work rate the past month has been a standout.
