Scott on the big win over the Bombers

It was a bit similar to some of our games over the past month, we were outplayed for patches but I think that's a common theme across the competition.

I don't think any team is good enough to dominate across an entire game.

Some of our good players looked like they were back in form, even someone like Patrick Dangerfield looked great after shaking some rust off last week.

I don't think we ever got sucked into thinking we were going that badly, we had a bad one against Carlton and one against Gold Coast, but the rest were pretty close.

It is our job to look at things a little bit deeper than just a win or a loss, but I'm not going to say it isn't pleasing to play better and win.

Scott on Stewart’s move to the midfield

The move made sense to me, I hold him in such high regard.

I joked with him that if we decided to play him as a small forward, he would probably be the best small forward in the competition.

He has got great attributes and a great attitude to his footy.

I don't think he has been shooting the lights out, but he has been going a lot better than people think he has been going.

Scott on the De Koning Ruck Experiment

We are really optimistic about Sam De Koning.

We could leave him as a defender and I am sure he would do that role brilliantly for us, but a bit similar to some of our players over the last month it just hasn't been clicking for him.

We make no apologies for prioritising our best players and especially our young players.

We thought we needed to get him into the game a little bit more and if it didn't work this week, we would try it again next week.

Scott on the Clearance Battle

For example if the ball is in your forward half a bit, the opposition are going to outnumber you around clearances.

You can lose the clearances but the ball stays in your forward half, scores from stoppages are much more important and inside 50's are much more important.

Some of our midfield numbers have been letting us down, but we weren't going to jump at shadows when some of their good midfielders were winning clearances.

It was a minor concern, but sometimes you can overreact to the numbers and make things worse.

Scott on Humphries Debut

I am pleased that he was able to get the ball enough to show what he can do.

His decision making and his kicking was great, but even in the contest he was good.

It feels like we have been talking about him for a couple of months, but I am glad we got him in there tonight.

I thought he and Mitch Knevitt had a big impact.
