Geelong Cats physical performance manager Scott Murphy will depart the Club at the end of the season to pursue an opportunity with Rugby Australia.
Murphy arrived at the Cats at the end of 2014 and his 10-year tenure has seen him a key part of seven Finals series and the 2022 Premiership.
Murphy joined Geelong with an experienced career in high performance, spending time at the Wallabies, European rugby clubs, Brisbane Lions and Australian Olympic track and field teams.
Geelong Cats General Manager Football Andrew Mackie thanked Murphy for his significant contribution to the Cats over the last 10 years.
“Scott has been an integral part of the Club during his decade at the Cats and our players and staff have benefitted greatly from his expertise and experience.
“He has worked incredibly hard as a dedicated member of our football program and shown a great commitment to our players to help them perform at their best.
“We look forward to Scott continuing to lead our performance team until when our season ends.”
Speaking on his decision Murphy said, “Geelong is an exceptional Club and I’ve had the privilege of working with incredible people over the journey. I will always be grateful for my time at Geelong.”
