Toby Conway will be unavailable this weekend as Geelong continues to assess a foot injury that ruled him out the past two weeks.

“Toby has had an issue with his foot that kept him out on the weekend. We’re still investigating the diagnosis and next steps, but he won’t be available this week,” Geelong Cats Assistant General Manager of Football Brett Johnson said.

“We’ll know more what that looks like beyond this weekend soon.”

Cameron Guthrie continues to progress in his rehab program for an achilles issue.

“The timeline on Cam’s return is still unclear. We’re continuing to assess his progress, and will have a clearer idea on his return to play timeframe within the next week or two,” Johnson said.

Rhys Stanley will be available for selection after overcoming a minor back/hip complaint that saw him sidelined last week, while fellow talls Mitch Edwards (back) and Emerson Jeka (achilles) are a test to be available.

“It’s good news that Rhys is available this week,” Johnson said.

“Mitch Edwards had a bit of a back issue that was unrelated to what was keeping him out earlier in the year, so we were a bit conservative there, but he’ll be a test to play this week, along with Emerson Jeka as well.”

Tanner Bruhn (scaphoid fracture), Oli Wiltshire (pelvis) and Tom Hawkins (foot) are all continuing to work through their respective rehabilitation programs.

“Tanner is tracking really well with his rehab coming back from his wrist injury, he’s one-to-two weeks away,” Johnson said.

“Hawkins is progressing well with his rehab as well.”

Geelong takes on Collingwood at the MCG this Friday night, with first bounce at 7.40pm.

Tickets are available through Ticketek, while the game will also be broadcast on Channel 7 and streamed via Kayo, or you can listen to all the action on K rock Football.
