Scott on the Zach Tuohy announcing his retirement

It is really good for our fans to see Zach at GMHBA Stadium one last time.

It should be a joyous occasion, but there is going to be a tinge of sadness as well.

These moments, although they do happen every year, it doesn't make it any less emotional, at least for me.

Zach really quickly has become a lot of people’s favourite player,

I am sure he was humbled by the outpouring of emotion this week.

Even I have had contact from young fans who are so disappointed to see him go, in a sense it is like Joel Selwood and Tom Hawkins in that you hope they can play forever.

Scott on Zach Guthrie ahead of his 100th game

I think he is worthy of a little bit of extra recognition because he was a really raw, young player when he came into our club.

The transformation in him and his game has been really significant.

I have been involved in footy for a while, but I can't remember a player who has worked as hard on his game and has transformed himself so much in 100 games.

It feels like it is still the early stages of his career, but it is something he should be proud of and it is a real credit to him.

Scott on Rhys Stanley’s 150th Club Game

I do like talking about Rhys, because he came to our club for a specific reason and he wasn't really a pure ruckman at St Kilda.

I think it was a really good example of our recruiting and list management team doing the work on a player, that we thought could come in and help us in a specific role.

Rhys has had his challenges that he has had to work through in his time here, but he has been a really highly valued player.

Not just because of what he has done on and off the field, but the fact that he really had to re-invent himself as a player.

A long time ago I think he considered himself to be a Geelong person, but 150 games further entrenches that.

Scott on the Cats preparation for this weekend

The carrot for us is obvious in terms of what the game means.

I think it is a mistake to shy away from the things that are at stake.

The little individual celebrations that go with this game add to it.

We are on edge and there is some nervous excitement, but that is when good things happen.

Scott on the even competition

Every year it feels like the difference between teams becomes smaller, which ironically means that the differences are magnified in terms of their importance.

You become more aware of that than ever, in eras gone by you could get away with a bit if you were a pretty good team.

Now it just feels like you can't get away with anything, one poor performance has huge ramifications and that adds pressure as well.

Every single decision feels like it will have an impact.
