Two Geelong champions have announced that 2024 will be their final seasons, with Tom Hawkins and Zach Tuohy set to finish their AFL careers at the end of the year.  

Both players have had a profound and everlasting impact on the club, including setting a number of records and winning premierships in the hoops.  

Saturday’s game at GMHBA Stadium will provide an opportunity for the Cats faithful to pay tribute to both players, when Geelong takes on West Coast in their final home and away game of the season.

645 - The total games played between Hawkins and Tuohy combined. Hawkins holds the Geelong Football Club games record currently sitting on 359 games, while Tuohy holds the record for most games by an Irish player with 286 games to this point.  

796 – Hawkins total goals across his career to this point. The number ranks him third on Geelong’s all time goalkicking leaderboard, while sitting 13th on the AFL’s career goals tally.  

83.6 – Zach Tuohy’s career win percentage at Kardinia Park. Since joining the Cats in 2017, Tuohy has featured in 55 games at GMHBA Stadium and played in 46 wins across that span.  

28 – The number of times Tom Hawkins has kicked five goals or more in a game across his career. The spearhead kicked a career high eight goals against Essendon last year, while kicking seven goals in a game on three separate occasions.  

36 – Tuohy’s career high disposals in a single game. The Irish champion collected the total in his first year at Geelong, in round six of the 2017 season against Collingwood.

70.3 – Hawkins career win percentage across 18 seasons and 359 games with Geelong. Hawkins has played in 251 wins from those 359 games, the fifth most wins of any player in AFL history.  

20.5 - Tuohy’s disposal average over 166 games with the Cats. Tuohy averaged 20 disposals or more in four of his eight seasons at Geelong, a feat he achieved once in six seasons at Carlton.  

32 – Hawkins total finals appearances across his career from 2007 until now. The Cats have won 17 of those 32 games, which includes three premierships (2009, 2011, 2022) that Hawkins has featured in.  

11 – The number of times Hawkins has finished a season as Geelong’s leading goalkicker. Hawkins won the Cats goalkicking award every year from 2012 to 2022 in an incredible run of sustained excellence, before being dethroned by Jeremy Cameron in 2023.  

4 – The number of premierships between the two champions. Hawkins featured in three Geelong premierships including 2009, 2011 and 2022, while Zach Tuohy was an integral part of the 2022 premiership.
