Jeremy Cameron earned his fourth All-Australian blazer last night, when he was the lone Cat selected to the 2024 team at the AFL awards night.  

Rewarded for his impressive home and away season, Cameron was selected as Centre Half Forward in the All-Australian team after kicking 58 goals in the home and away season.  

Among the 58 majors was a handful of big hauls including nine goals against West Coast, and six against both North Melbourne and Adelaide.  

The selection continues Geelong’s dominant history in the AFL All-Australian team, take a look at some key numbers below.

9 – Geelong’s active streak of seasons with at least one player making the All-Australian team. The last time the Cats had no representatives was in 2015, which ended another eight year streak stretching back to 2006. Only GWS and Melbourne have active All-Australian streaks that rival Geelong’s dominance.  

7 – The number of Cats on the current playing list with an All-Australian blazer. Patrick Dangerfield leads the way with eight blazers (three at Adelaide), while Tom Stewart and Tom Hawkins have both made five All-Australian teams.  

77 – Jeremy Cameron’s 2024 blazer was Geelong’s 77th different All-Australian selection in the AFL era (since 1991). Mark Bairstow, Billy Brownless, Paul Couch and Garry Hocking started the history as the first Cats selected in 1991, stretching to the 77th selection last night with Jeremy Cameron.

9 – Geelong still holds the record for the most players selected in one All-Australian from the same team, with nine different Cats making the 2007 team. This included: Gary Ablett Junior, Jimmy Bartel, Joel Corey, Matthew Egan, Steve Johnson, Cameron Ling, Darren Milburn, Cameron Mooney and Matthew Scarlett.  

4 – Jeremy Cameron’s total number of All-Australian selections across his career. This includes two blazers with Geelong (2022, 2024) and two more with GWS (2013, 2019).  

6 – The most total All-Australian selections by any individual Geelong player during their career with the Cats. Three Geelong players have earned six different blazers including Matthew Scarlett, Joel Selwood and Corey Enright.  

4 – The number of Geelong players to be announced as captain of the All-Australian team. This includes Gary Ablett Senior (1995), Joel Selwood (2013, 2014, 2016), Patrick Dangerfield (2020) and Tom Hawkins (2022).
