Georgie Prespakis stood tall in a dominant display on Saturday afternoon, helping Geelong to win an important midfield battle against the Eagles in Perth.

The Cats star amassed a season high 27 disposals and 16 contested possessions in Week 9, adding a game high nine clearances in an impressive performance.

Geelong were able to win the centre clearance battle (8 - 4) against the Eagles, helping them to control territory and lock the ball in their forward half.

Conceding only one behind after the half time break, Prespakis said it was a combination of midfield pressure and a strong backline that inspired the Cats to a big victory.

"We just wanted to keep sticking to what we were doing well," Prespakis told Cats Media following the game.

"We were winning it around the contest, I thought our backline held up really well to only allow the Eagles to score once after half time.

"The pressure on the ball was terrific, making it hard for them to gain territory and get forward.

"It was a great time to come over to Perth and connect as a group, it was great to get the win but it was a hard contest."

Attention now turns to a huge Friday night clash at GMHBA Stadium, with the Cats set to take on Kuwarna (Adelaide) in the final round of the home and away season.

Geelong are still a chance to make the AFLW Finals, but will need to defeat the Crows this week to keep their hopes alive.

Prespakis encouraged Cats fans to attend the game, with the exciting clash set to kick off a massive final round of football.

"We want to get as many as we can to GMHBA Stadium on Friday night," Prespakis said.

"The team really want to finish off the season strongly, we have played some really strong opposition teams this year and Adelaide certainly fit into that category.

"We will bring the fight and we want the fans to bring the noise, we can't wait."
