Geelong have been involved in a mega six team trade on Friday, with the Cats completing a pick swap that sees the Cats move up the draft board heading in the Telstra AFLW Draft on Monday 16 December.

In a complex six team trade between Gold Coast, Melbourne, Adelaide, Collingwood, Richmond and Geelong, the Cats have received picks 16 and 37 in return for picks 22, 27 and 45.

The Cats have been active early in this year’s trade period, with Geelong trading Darcy Moloney to Sydney on Thursday.

Assistant General Manager – Football Brett Johnson said the Club jumped at the chance to be involved.

“We saw great opportunity to strengthen our draft hand within a complex six team trade. This year’s draft pool is very talented and with the national draft only 10 days away, we will now head in with picks 9, 16 and 37.”
