Reaching 350 AFL games is no mean feat for a player or a coach, but Geelong's two key leaders have the chance to create their own slice of history in 2025.
Cats head coach Chris Scott and captain Patrick Dangerfield can both reach 350 games this year, another impressive milestone on a pair of incredible football resumes.
Scott is heading into his 15th season in the top job with Geelong in 2025, currently sitting on 334 games as the Cats coach and needing just 16 more to reach 350.
It has been an extraordinary period stretching back to 2011, with Scott leading his team to the Finals in 12 of the last 14 seasons and winning two Premierships in that span.
Across his coaching career, Scott has the second highest win percentage of any AFL coach with over 100 games in charge, only sitting behind John Coleman while also coaching the Cats in 30 finals matches, the ninth most in V/AFL history.
With 16 more matches in the top job during the 2025 season, Scott can become just the 19th coach in V/AFL history to reach the 350 game milestone.
Geelong captain Patrick Dangerfield is set to head into his 18th AFL season in 2025, his 10th year with the Cats and third as captain after taking the reins in 2023.
The champion midfielder finished 2024 on 337 career games, needing just 13 more to reach his 350th game.
Looking through his career history, the likelihood of reaching the milestone in 2025 looks good having played 16 or more games in each of his last 16 seasons.
If Dangerfield reaches the milestone this year, he will become just the 25th player in AFL history and fourth player in Geelong Football Club history to reach 350 games.
The achievement would add to an outstanding CV that includes a Premiership, a Brownlow Medal, eight All Australian selections and three Carji Greeves Medals.
After joining the Cats via trade at the end of 2015, Dangerfield has played 183 games for the club needing just 17 more matches to reach 200 in the Hoops.
