2025 AFL Season - Round Two
St Kilda v Geelong Cats
Marvel Stadium
Saturday 22 March, 7.35pm (AEDT)
PLAYERS TO WATCH
Geelong: Jack Henry
His form in the pre-season was sensational, but Jack Henry continued on with another stellar performance in round one against Fremantle.
The star defender collected 24 disposals at 80% efficiency in round one, taking a game high 14 marks to go with 11 intercept possessions.
St Kilda amassed 52 inside 50's in their round one clash, meaning Henry will be important this week to help repel their attacking forays.
St Kilda: Jack Macrae
St Kilda's new recruit, Jack Macrae was a standout performer in his first game for the club, despite the Saints falling to Adelaide by 63 points.
Macrae finished with an impressive stat-line, accumulating a team high 34 disposals, 23 contested possessions, 12 clearances and seven score involvements.
Geelong were strong through the midfield in round one keeping Caleb Serong and Andrew Brayshaw reasonably quiet, but will need replicate that and stifle the influence of Macrae on Saturday night.
RECENT HISTORY
Geelong and St Kilda have fought out a number of close battles in recent years, both teams winning three of the last six clashes dating back to round 22 in 2021.
Prior to that stretch, the Cats dominated the match-up winning six consecutive matches against the Saints between 2017 and 2021.
