Blicavs on Saturday's match against Brisbane

We played them last year in pretty wet conditions and it looks like that again, so we'll have game plans going into it if it's going to be really wet, but that's something we'll make the call on when we're out there warming up.

It's going to be a good contest, I think the strength of our backline is we're able to be adaptable and play on different positions if we have to, we really like and value our team defence.

A bit of a new look forward line without Joe [Daniher] there, but I've played against [Sam] Day a few times, he's a really strong, really smart footballer.

A lot of the guns are in their forward line so we want to put the effort into those guys, but that team defence in mind.

Blicavs on his future

I'd definitely like to go on further than this year, I've really enjoyed the pre-season and when you're feeling really good in your body and not as injured you enjoy football a lot more.

I'm really enjoying it, I'm motivated I'm loving playing with these guys so I'm not worried too much, I'm just enjoying playing footy at the moment.

My body's feeling really good and touch wood I haven't had too many nasty injuries, and because I hadn't come from a contact sport up until 21 maybe my body's feeling a bit fresher.

I think while I'm motivated and enjoying football and able to contribute, I'll be here, I'm still working hard but I think the moment I decide to take shortcuts and not prep the way I want to is probably the time I finish up I think.

Blicavs on Bailey Smith

It was impressive his first game, wasn't it? The way he moves his feet he's really quick out of the contest.

He's a really good mover with the ball, a really good footy runner, I reckon Mitch Duncan is really similar, but the way Baz gets out of contests is really impressive so it's going to be good playing with him this year for sure.

He's looking good, I think he's a test this week so the club will give him all the time he needs to do it.

Obviously dealing with a bit of that calf soreness, a bit precautionary but I think he's going pretty well.

Blicavs on missing Tom Stewart

We've got a big season ahead so wouldn't want to bring him back too early, but Stewart knows his body, he's been around for ages now and he's an ultimate professional.

It's the strength of the club, we've always been more than the one player.

He's obviously a huge void, he's a gun but we always train with the depth and we have trusted teammates that come in and play the similar roles.

I've been enjoying playing down back with Lawson, with Zach Guthrie, Jack Henry's going really well at the moment, if [Stewart] doesn't make it we'll be fine.
