The VFLW Cats have announced their team for Saturday's season-opening clash with the Box Hill Hawks.

New Geelong head coach Taylah Hassett will lead her side for the first time alongside new captain Mel Staunton, who has been selected in the midfield.

A number of familiar faces will pull the Hoops again in 2025, including the top three finishers from Geelong's VFLW best and fairest last year: Lily Jordan (winner), Breanna Pratt (runner-up) and Poppy Schaap (third place).

There will also be a number of exciting new players and emerging talents that will line-up for the Cats this weekend; see the full team below.

The VFLW Cats will face the Box Hill Hawks on Saturday to open their season, with the game set to commence at 11.05am at Deakin University Elite Sports Precinct, Waurn Ponds.

All matches in the 2025 Smithy’s VFL and VFLW seasons will be live streamed free via the AFL website, AFL Live Official App and VFL App.
