The stellar Easter Monday debut continues to get better for Shaun Mannagh, the crafty forward receiving the maximum 10 coaches votes for his outstanding performance against Hawthorn.

Mannagh had a profound impact in front of goal, kicking three majors and recording nine score involvements while also applying plenty of pressure with five tackles inside 50, providing plenty of problems for the Hawks defence throughout the afternoon.

But his impact was not limited to the Cats forward 50, with the 27 year old also winning four clearances and three intercept possessions in a performance that had a little bit of everything.

Mannagh now moves to 14 coaches votes for the year which is the third highest of any Geelong player in 2025, an impressive effort considering he missed the first three games of the season.

Bailey Smith has also been recognised for another terrific display on Easter Monday, awarded six votes from the coaches after collecting 28 disposals, four clearances and 630 metres gained against the Hawks.

The star recruit continues to lead the way for Geelong with 27 coaches votes for the season, now moving into fifth position across the entire competition and just two votes behind current leader, Nick Daicos.

Patrick Dangerfield also featured in the votes once again in Round 6, awarded three votes after collecting 15 disposals and booting another three goals to continue his strong start to the year.

The Geelong captain takes his tally to 21 coaches votes for the 2025 season, moving into the AFL's top 15 while polling in the last three consecutive games.

The fourth Cat to feature in the votes this week was Mark Blicavs, who was awarded his first vote of the 2025 season after playing an instrumental role down back for Geelong.

Blicavs finished the Easter Monday match with 15 disposals, five tackles and four marks, while also registering five intercept possessions and four score involvements to have a monumental influence on the final result.

The AFL Coaches Association’s AFL Champion Player Award is an award voted by the 18 coaching panels on a 5,4,3,2,1 basis after each home and away game, acknowledging outstanding effort by an individual player in a season.
