First-year sensation Jordan Clark is set to miss this weekend’s qualifying final against Collingwood.
Clark received a knock to the same elbow that has kept him sidelined since round 20 in his return to playing for Geelong’s VFL team on Saturday.
Chris Scott is hopeful that it won’t keep him out of action for long.
“He played on the weekend and got a knock to that same elbow but with a different injury, so not a recurrence of the ligament injury, but that puts him in a bit of doubt for this week,” Scott said.
“He is still a little bit sore and it would appear unlikely that he would come up at this stage.”
The news was better for defender Jake Kolodjashnij and pressure forward Tom Atkins, with Scott confirming that both would be available for selection this week.
“He will be okay and available and Tom Atkins as forecasted will be okay as well.”
In other injury news, Lachie Fogarty hurt his ankle in Geelong’s elimination final loss to Port Melbourne.
“He has got an ankle issue.”
“We are still yet to assess Lachie’s availability, but as soon as he is right he will certainly continue training with us because he is one of those players that would be in the frame for selection if we go a little bit further into the finals, but not this week.”
