Cats TV caught up with, Andrew Mackie and Scott Gullan for Argue the Toss, where they discussed Steve Johnson’s recent Brownlow performance in the midfield.

According to Mackie, Johnson has perfected the artistry to facilitate play amongst his teammates, after moving from the frontline into the middle.

“Look, his creativity around the midfield has been really good for us and we missed him against Collingwood.”

“He is giving us a lot, he sets up a lot of play, and brings a lot of his teammates into the game. He’s unpredictable to the opposition, which means he can be pretty hard to man up on.”

Gullan says it would be hard not to grant Johnson a vote for his outstanding groundwork, which he continues to show week after week.
“In front of the umpires eyes he gets it 30 times… I don’t think Brownlow is unrealistic.”

“I mean the Cats have only lost one game, he would be getting votes, and it’s unbelievable to think that he could be in the running for a Brownlow medal, and he of all people would love that.”
