Tom Hawkins will miss Friday night’s preliminary final against Richmond after his one-week suspension was upheld at the AFL tribunal on Monday.
Hawkins unsuccessfully attempted to downgrade the conduct assessment of his charge from intentional to careless, after originally being handed a one-week ban for striking Will Schofield during the third quarter of the semi final match against West Coast.
Based on the available evidence, the incident was assessed as Intentional Conduct with Low Impact and High Contact. The incident was classified as a one-match sanction.
