All Australian defender Tom Stewart has warned defences across the league about the havoc Gary Ablett will cause in the forward line throughout the season.
Over the preseason, Stewart has gained some first-hand experience at how difficult it can be matching up on the little master.
Ablett’s new role for the season as mainly a small forward will add to Geelong’s attacking group.
Speaking to SEN Breakfast, Stewart spoke of Ablett’s ability as an on-baller in the forward line.
“He's very good at losing you in traffic and he knows exactly where the ball's going to drop," Stewart said.
"If he can stay on the park, he's going to tear some games up in that forward half.”
"I'm excited to see what he can bring to that forward half, with the new players, as well."
The prospect of Ablett kicking over 40 goals is sure to excite his teammates and fans alike.
In his first game for the season, Ablett will likely match up against the likes of Jeremy Howe and Jack Crisp in Collingwood’s defence.
The match kicks off at 7:50pm under the bright lights of Friday night footy.
