The Bendigo Bank Cats have cemented their position inside the top eight after defeating North Melbourne by 102-points at GMHBA Stadium on Saturday.
Played in cold and windy conditions, the Cats prevailed 21.12 (138) to 5.6 (36).
Midfielder Charlie Constable was prolific for Cats, finishing with 41 touches and two-goals to be named best-on-ground.
“I think it was the best we have played for four quarters in a long time,” Constable said post-match.
“Everyone played their role which made it really fun to play and we had a big win which was great.”
The victory was setup early in the game when Geelong kicked 12 consecutive goals after North opened the scoring after just four minutes.
The highlight coming at the start of the second quarter when Irishman Stefan Okunbor kicked his first goal in footy.
“I was really close to him, it was a cracking goal on the left foot, and he was pretty happy about it.”
“I reckon it would have been pretty special when all the boys were getting around him.”
The Cats kept the Roos goalless in the second term to take a 64-point lead into half time.
Geelong continued to pile on the goals in the second half, running out 102-point victors.
Constable was well supported on ball by James Parsons and Sam Simpson who finished with 33 and 28 touches respectively.
They were fed the football brilliantly by Rhys Stanley and Ryan Abbott, with both men also hitting the scoreboard.
The Cats had 12 different goal kickers with Wylie Buzza, Jamaine Jones and Darcy Fort leading the way with three apiece.
The win puts Geelong in a strong position with just two rounds remaining in the home and away season.
They travel to Point Gellibrand to play Williamstown next Sunday at 11.40am.
