Brandan Parfitt says he wants to play a bigger role this finals series on the eve of his 50th AFL game against the Lions on Saturday at 2.10pm.

After spending the majority of his first two seasons in attack, Parfitt has been used in the midfield this season, averaging 18 disposals and six tackles in his 15 games.

“I probably have more pressure on myself going into this finals series knowing I can contribute to the side in a bigger way,” Parfitt said speaking to krockfootball.com.au.

“In my first year, I was just a small forward that brought that pressure and helped out a little bit."

“I think the older I’ve gotten. I’ve got more responsibility now and a bit more leadership.”

Recruited with the 26th overall pick in the 2016 national draft, Parfitt knows a victory on Saturday will help the Cats determine their own destiny heading into the final round of the home and away season.

“It’s an important game. We’re fighting for that top spot and they’re a really good side, and they’ve been, probably, the most in-form side in the last few weeks,” he said.

“It will be a big game; everyone’s up-and-about.

“We haven’t played them all season, so it will be interesting.”
