Timm House
The emerging key position prospect was named as an emergency for the clash with the Sydney Swans but wasn't needed and ended up playing in the VFL Cats' game against the Box Hill Hawks on Saturday. Lined up in the backline and finished with 18 disposals, seven marks, five rebound-50s and a mention among the Cats' best players.
Jamaine Jones
Still a rookie but is a chance to be promoted this week given the Cats have a spot free after Lincoln McCarthy was placed on the long-term injury list. Jones was the VFL Cats' best player in the loss to the Box Hill Hawks, tallying 10 disposals, six tackles and 2.2.
Jack Henry
Another rookie who is a chance to be promoted in time to take on Richmond at Simonds Stadium on Saturday. Was named the VFL Cats' second-best player after the clash with the Hawks last weekend. Racked up 11 disposals, laid six tackles and kicked two goals.
Aaron Black
Pushed his claim for an AFL recall by kicking two goals in the VFL Cats' loss to the Hawks. With Tom Hawkins suspended, he has very much come into the frame.
Rhys Stanley
Another player who is a chance to replace Hawkins. Played in the VFL last weekend and finished with 10 disposals, 10 hit-outs and a goal.
Steven Motlop
Has missed the past two games due to general soreness but will aim to prove his fitness on the training track this week.
Daniel Menzel
In a very similar position to Motlop. Has been sidelined by soreness in recent weeks but is set to try and prove himself on the training track this week.
Tom Ruggles
Played his first game in the VFL last weekend after a long layoff with a shoulder injury. Finished with 20 disposals and seven rebound-50s.
Jordan Cunico
Returned to action in the VFL last weekend after a few weeks out with an ankle injury. Finished with 18 disposals and a goal.
