Geelong's VFL manager, Troy Selwood, says Mitch Clark has made a big impression during his time with the Cats' VFL team.
Clark has played four VFL games and kicked 10 goals since recovering from his series of leg injuries.
"He's been building each and every week and got to a point now where he's absolutely knocking the door down for senior selection," Selwood said on Cats Media's Mid-Season Review show.
"What he's been able to provide [the VFL program with] is being able to be such a great leader - the experience he shows out there.
"He's been giving back to the program, which is what I've just absolutely loved and can't be underestimated.
"He's acted as an on-field coach for us, and not coached young AFL-listed players, he's also looked after our local VFL-listed players.
"And what an opportunity for those guys to be working closely with Mitch Clark.
Clark has worked particularly closely with young forward Timm House.
"We plucked [Timm] out of the Newtown & Chilwell Football Club, and how much he has improved in the space of four weeks has been remarkable," Selwood said.
"It looks as thought Mitch and Timm have played football together for years, the way that can work in together.
"We're just scratching the surface with some the stuff Mitch has provided.
"[He brought with him] a great attitude, as all our AFL guys do when they come back to play at VFL-level."
