Geelong Cats Chief Executive Brian Cook joined forces with 22 organisations in Geelong this morning to say no to family violence.
In an initiative driven by The City of Greater Geelong the Cats signed a Statement of Commitment acknowledging family violence is unacceptable and, as leaders within the greater Geelong community the Cats will promote gender equity and respectful relationships.
Geelong Cats Chief Executive Brian Cook said, “The Cats have a respect for diversity policy with gender as a key pillar. As highly visible members of the community we are committed to advocating against family violence in all its forms”.
City of Greater Geelong CEO Kelvin Spiller said, “Many City activities and staff have the ability to directly or indirectly influence, raise awareness and create positive action and outcomes in relation to family violence.”
“We are proud to be collaborating with so many like-minded organisations to help prevent violence in our families, and those families we serve or interact with across our community.”
Other organisations who signed the agreement included Cats partners Deakin University, Barwon Child Youth & Family and Barwon Water.
