Cats chief executive Brian Cook has reaffirmed the club’s stance on marriage equality.
In a letter to staff, Cook said he was proud his club had positioned itself as a strong advocate for marriage equality – dating back to 2014.
“There is much debate in Australian society at the moment around marriage equality,” Cook begun.
“This is an emotional issue for many people. As a club we first advocated for marriage equality in July 2014, and we continue to hold this position.”
“We are proud of the fact that our club was among the first to support this cause. We believe the club is a community leader and should take a strong position to help bring about positive societal change.”
