Dangerwood is on the move.
The Joel Selwood-Patrick Dangerfield combination that's caused so much conversation throughout the off-season, will spend more time up forward this year.
While the midfield duo excelled in 2016, contributing to Dangerfield's Brownlow Medal win, captain Selwood has conceded they'll need to make more of a contribution up forward for the Cats to take their game to the next level.
"I think we've enjoyed each other's company, especially out there playing too," Selwood joked at the Melbourne Cricket Club's season launch lunch on Wednesday.
"He was able to put out a season like we hadn't seen since we had Gary (Ablett jnr) there.
Selwood says as he and Dangerfield spend more time in the forward half, it will give the rest of their deep list of midfield options a better opportunity to jell.
The likes of Mitch Duncan, Cam Guthrie, Steven Motlop, Scott Selwood, Sam Menegola, Darcy Lang and George Horlin-Smith, will all be asked to step up, reducing the reliance on the much hyped 'Dangerwood' pair.
"Probably the question marks form from what Paddy and I have been able do purely because we've had a bit of trouble delivering it into our forwards," Selwood said.
"If we did that with a bit more success then maybe these question marks wouldn't pop up quite as much.
"Part of it is for us to bring the next group along, the next midfielders, which we understand that we need to do, we want to do and we think that we can.
"We understand that will be a part of it, at times through our games throughout the season, playing forward will help the side."
Selwood said he and his relatively new accomplice are keen to "sit forward and kick some goals," joking on stage with Lions legend Jonathon Brown, "you get paid a bit more down there."
Geelong's season-opener will be against Fremantle at Domain Stadium and in last year's corresponding match Dangerfield moved forward and booted four goals, earning him three Brownlow votes.
Cats fans will be hoping that's exactly what they see on Sunday night.
