Geelong's VFL Women's team has recorded its eighth win of the season, defeating the Eastern Devils by 39 points at Deakin University on Sunday.
The Cats kicked five goals to one in the first quarter and were never troubled from there, winning 11.8 (74) to 5.5 (35).
"It was a really pleasing performance," Cats VFLW coach Paul Hood said after the match.
"It was fantastic to see the girls attack the game so well from the outset.
"Some terrific ball-use inside 50 in the first quarter and working shots a goal from great spots.
"The team combined really well, so a really pleasing day."
The Cats had outstanding performers all over the field.
"Lily Mithen got plenty of the ball, Renee Garing fought really hard, Cassie Blakeway and Hayley Trevean doing their thing again," Hood said.
"Hannah Burchell was excellent at linking us up on the outside.
"Some of our forwards, too, worked really well. Danielle Higgins and Kate Darby had great days.
"Down back the team was really well led by Anna Teague."
Due to a fixturing quirk, the Cats, who are now fifth on the ladder, will play the Devils again next weekend in what is the final home and away round for the VFLW competition.
"It will make it much tougher playing them on their home ground," Hood said. "They had some big outs today, and those players might test us next weekend."
