It's amazing to think that Geelong last played the Swans at the MCG way back in 1934.
That was in the days when the Swans, then known as South Melbourne, were a powerhouse in the old VFL.
They had won the 1933 premiership, and they met the Cats at the 'G in the '34 preliminary final, with the winner to play Richmond in the Grand Final.
Unfortunately, it proved to be a disappointing day for Geelong.
But it was an important event in the history of the Cats-Swans rivalry.
