Cats TV spoke to Tom Lonergan and VFL skipper Troy Selwood about Saturday’s clash against the Eagles in Western Australia, on this week’s Argue the Toss.

This week the Eagles will be out to kill in order to secure their chances of making the final eight. The Eagles won’t only be feeling confident on their home turf but they’ll also be rearing to go after their gallant performance against the Bombers last week.

Lonergan says the Cats main priority this Saturday is making sure they push in front early and keep the pressure high.

“It’s imperative to get the ball out of the middle and get it down to our big forwards and kick some goals.”

“They’ve got one of the all time greats in the middle with Dean Cox, so we’re going to have to deal with him but I think our mids are up to the challenge.”

According to Selwood the Eagles have the leg speed that can cause devastation to their opponent, especially if they’re left to run along the outside of the pack.

“I think for years the Eagles have been elite runners, when they get their running game on they’re really hard to stop, especially a big ground like Patersons.”

“So that’s going to be a job for everybody, to really bang into them and keep the ball in tight and not to let those runners get onto the outsides, because they’re really difficult to beat when they get that running game going.”
