Tom Hawkins has been referred to the tribunal for his contact with an umpire in Friday night's win over Greater Western Sydney.
Hawkins is charged with making intentional contact with umpire Dean Margetts during the second quarter of the match.
Intentional contact with an umpire is a direct referral to the Tribunal and no early plea is available to a player.
After the game Hawkins told Channel 7 the contact was accidental.
"I actually thought initially it was an opposition hand," Hawkins told Channel Seven post-match.
"I didn't mean to make any contact with him, but apologised to him after, but obviously accidental. That's what happens in footy, heat of the moment."
Hawkins was also fined $2000 for rough conduct in an incident preceding the contact.
