Enjoying a day off from the gruelling training schedule at the Cats’ Coffs Harbour training camp, Jordan Murdoch caught up with Cats TV to share his experiences so far including his disappointing performance in the pool.

“I did terrible. I started first every time and was last by the time I was done, not a fish at all,” Murdoch joked.

Despite his blistering speed, Murdoch found incline running the most gruelling activity so far.

“We did a run up hills and then did a big team circuit after that, I was exhausted and really really wanted a sleep.”

Looking ahead to 2014 Murdoch is looking to improve all facets of his game in order to cement his spot in the side after playing 11 AFL games in 2013.

“I want to improve on my defensive side, knowing my role in the team a bit better, working on being a bit more consistent in all my efforts and just making sure I’m pushing selection if not in selection each week.”

Murdoch is looking forward to coming back fitter and stronger after the Christmas break thanks to these nine days in Coffs Harbour and is ready for the challenges 2014 will bring.

“We’ve got eight draftees this year instead of two last year so we’ve got a lot of young fellas, a couple of older guys have gone on so the team is a lot younger,

“With that it brings an unknown factor and I think we will again be portrayed as not around the mark this year but we’re out to surprise a few people and I reckon we’ll give it a really good crack.”
