SCANS over the weekend will reveal the extent of the ankle injury James Kelly suffered in Friday night's gutsy win over Port Adelaide.

The triple premiership player had to be subbed out of the game early in the first quarter after being hurt in a tackle laid of Power midfielder Ollie Wines.

He was on crutches with strapping on his ankle when the Cats arrived back at Melbourne Airport on Saturday afternoon.

"It's a high ankle sprain, I think, but as to how bad it is, we're not sure yet," Kelly said.

"If it's a good one it could be three or four (weeks), if it's a bad one it could be six or eight (weeks).

"We're not too sure. We'll know by Monday."

Ruckman Rhys Stanley will also have scans over the weekend after he suffered a foot injury in the victory over Port.

Stanley was also on crutches when the team arrived back in Melbourne.

"I can't comment on what's wrong with him," Kelly said. "I'm not sure, so we'll wait and see."

Kelly is certain to miss next weekend's home game against Melbourne at Simonds Stadium, which will be Corey Enright's 300th AFL match.

"It would've been nice to be out there," the 31-year-old said.

"You always like to play in milestone games and play well, and especially a 300th game for a player of his calibre.

"I will miss being out there."

Enright was at his brilliant best against Port Adelaide, finishing the clash with a game-high 29 disposals.

"He was fantastic last night, wasn't he? It's just a testament to him and his professionalism and the person that he is," Kelly said.

"Hopefully next week all the boys can put in a really good performance for him and really given him a game he deserves.

"He's really been a great servant for the club."
