ROUND 22
Opponent: Collingwood
Venue: MCG (home game) - Friday, August 28, 7.50pm
The first of two must-win matches. Geelong has won its past two games against Collingwood, and the Cats will be buoyed by their brilliant performance against the Magpies earlier this year. That night at the MCG the Cats stamped their authority on the contest from the outset, booting seven goals to one in the opening quarter. The Pies fought back in the second half, but Geelong then cantered away again to win by 41 points.

ROUND 23
Opponent: Adelaide
Venue: Simonds Stadium - Saturday, September 5, 1.10pm
If the Cats beat Collingwod and the Crows lose to West Coast in round 22, then this will be a play-off for a spot in the final eight. Geelong has a mixed recent record against Adelaide, having won two of its past four games against the men from the City of Churches. However, the Cats haven't lost to the Crows at Simonds Stadium since round 10, 2003.
