In celebration of this week’s Indigenous Round, the Cats from the Aboriginal playing group visited 40 Indigenous children on the BioCATS Community camp hosted at Simonds Stadium’s Deakin Cats Community Centre.

Before hitting the road for Sydney, Mathew Stokes, Travis Varcoe, Brad Hartman and sidelined Allen Christensen gave a hand with a mix of activities, answered questions and took part in a handful of happy snaps with the children.

BioCATS is an educational program developed by the Geelong Cats and BioLAB: The Victorian BioScience Education Centre.

BioCATS is a math and science program that offers a number of physical activities and problem solving tasks, which aims to educate students about the importance of healthy lifestyles and eating habits.

The community development program is also designed to encourage students to develop important social-emotional skills such as self-awareness, self-management, persisting with challenges and striving for enhanced performance.

Below are several pictures of the 40 students from the Warrnambool / Portland / Hamilton / Geelong region who participated in a special Indigenous Round edition of BioCATS.
