Mathew Stokes
The veteran midfielder played in the VFL team’s big win over the Northern Blues at Simonds Stadium on Saturday. He finished the game with 25 disposals, six tackles, six clearances and a goal and looks a good chance to be recalled to the AFL side for Saturday’s season-ending home game against Adelaide.
George Horlin-Smith
Although he was unlucky to be dropped back to the VFL after some reasonable form in the AFL, Horlin-Smith took the situation in his stride and dominated the clash with the Northern Blues. He racked up 30 disposals, six marks, six clearances and four goals in an outstanding display, guiding his team to an 81-point win.
Josh Cowan
The luckless midfielder pushed his case for an AFL recall with another solid performance in the VFL. He tallied 26 disposals, seven marks, five tackles, eight inside-50s and a goal. The coaches might want to have a look at him at AFL-level before deciding on his future.
Shane Kersten
The mobile forward didn’t win a heap of the ball against the Blues on Saturday but his three goals have kept his name in the mix for the clash with the Crows.
Josh Caddy
The star midfielder missed Friday night’s game against Collingwood due to knee soreness. It seems doubtful that he will be considered for the game against Adelaide.
Mitch Duncan
The gun onballer has now missed three matches due to a calf problem. It remains to be seen whether the coaches will want to risk him against the Crows, given the game is a dead rubber.
