The Cats face the prospect of being without midfield star James Kelly for two weeks after he was cited by the match review panel.

Kelly bumped Bomber Brendan Goddard in a contest on the wing at Etihad Stadium during Friday night's clash.

The Match Review Panel decided the contact was reckless, high contact and low impact. The match review panel added his poor record and carryover points to give him a final points amount of 289.06 and a two-week ban.

On the weekend Goddard took to Twitter to congratulate Kelly on the bump calling it a "good hit".

The Cats next two matches are against Collingwood and Port Adelaide.
