Argue the Toss on Cats TV heard from, Andrew Mackie, and journalist, Scott Gullan, about the Cats current clearance conundrum.

Over the past three games the Cats have finished with a surprisingly low number of clearances, compared to their defeated opponent.

Although Mackie is concerned about the Cats low number of clearances, he is confident that this will improve. Considering the Cats positive start to the season, he believes development in these areas will only increase their chances of success.

“Yeah it is very important, the positive is that we have been winning and we’ve still got stuff to work on, and that’s a really good sign,”
Mackie explained.

“We’ve just got to do the work in the week and really put the right steps in place to make sure we get it right.”

On the other hand, Gullan said he was surprised about the Cats low number of clearances and he believes this reinforces how competent the Cats players are, especially in their defence.

“It is a flabbergasting stat to be honest, I mean clearances are so important, it just shows probably how good the defence and everything is, because the ball is coming back quickly out of the midfield.”
